BEST OF COLUMBUS WEDDINGS STYLED SHOOT AT COLUMBUS MUSEUM OF ART

best-of-columbus-wedding-photographer

The 2022 Best of Columbus Weddings has been announced and I am so honored to have been selected as the winner for the Photography category for the second year in a row! This year is even sweeter than last year because my mom, the owner of Lavender and Honey, won for the cake category! It was so special to work together on this stunning shoot alongside some of our favorite vendors in the wedding industry.

The mood board created for this shoot, by MMJ Events, screamed luxury. The color palette was kept neutral to compliment the beautiful space at the Columbus Museum of Art. The stone walls, large tile floors, and tall trimmed archways were perfectly accented by the design. Add in a wave of lush greenery and bright blooms from Prema Designs and a stunning couple and I was blown away.

The elegant invitation suite designed by Ink and Ivory set the tone perfectly for this inspiration shoot. The envelopes were lined in a brushed texture mimicking the texture seen in the stone walls of the museum. The color of the primary invite matched the porcelain tiles and the velum details represented the large windows that line the reception space at the venue.

Run to an Elopement once again made her grand appearance as the officiant! During the ceremony, the couple, who I have worked with before, locked eyes in excitement. Knowing these two in advance made for some fun and effortless portraits. When Janessa turned around in her gown from La Jeune Mariee, DJ couldn’t help but show off his biggest smile. Her fitted gown had the most delicate flowers cascading down to a lace and beaded train. We also can’t forget to mention Derrick’s classic grey suit from Pursuit.

Following the ceremony we entered the reception space and my jaw dropped seeing the floral installation by Prema Designs hanging over the table. It was the ultimate statement adding movement and dimension to the room. The table was draped in velvet and around it was the Elle chairs from Aiden & Grace. The glass votives blended with the tall windows making the table feel like it had floating candlelight. Everything felt airy and the fluffy white roses reflected so much light.

I loved how the florals from the ceremony space were repurposed (something that is commonly done in real-weddings) and added to the lush lounge area where they framed the perfect gold-toned couch. You truly can never go wrong with a wall of florals that served as a great backdrop to the lounge area.

To compliment the white blooms seen all throughout, the cake by Lavender and Honey (YAY), had dainty, EDIBLE, flowers that reached outwards from a two tiered mauve cake with a geometric-style debossing.

The “love you more” neon sign wasn’t the only light that was brought in. Josh Staley Productions showed up with the coolest light panels that blended in perfectly with the scene. That’s something I’ve always loved about JSP is there desire to blend in and keep a reception space looking classic and fresh vs. cluttered.

I could truly talk about this shoot and these vendors forever, but instead I will let you see some of my favorites along with the list of magic makers below. My excitement and thankfulness for being nominated and voted to win truly cannot be measured.
