Status:

Found solitary in wounds on trunks of living hardwoods (primarily oaks) or on fallen logs.

Description:

Fruiting body: Globular or cushion-shaped mass of soft, hanging, pointed spines; white (yellow to brown in age); flesh white. Stalk: Short. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
