I bought this Barbie for my daughter and followed all the care instructions plus would wash the doll's hair, rinse, and let air dry.

She got moldy. All through the scalp and I figured the inside, too. I emailed the company and asked if they can tell me what else I can do to prevent mold, if this is common, or if I just ended up with a dud Barbie. They keep asking me for info I already told them I no longer had and they aren't answering the questions I asked. They just told me how to wash the hair to remove the mold on the outside of the scalp.

Well, I opened Barbie up. There's mold on the inside that a scalp shampoo won't take care of.

The 2 star rating is for how pretty the Barbie was and the tail was nice. My daughter loved it. But following care instructions didn't prevent mold and customer service is terrible.

Woow! I received this doll today in exchange for a review!!! This doll is a real beauty! The mermaid has a new face, not the one we used to see before. She has freckles like my youngest daughter! My princess immediately declared that this Barbie mermaid is very similar to her!
