The present invention relates to an anti-fraud process for a document of value constituted by a PVC substrate comprising a signature location on this substrate, and consisting in depositing a layer of support ink 2, including a pigment and charged with a product ensuring it a certain porosity, on the signature site; depositing on certain areas of the first ink layer 2 a transparent and porous varnish 3 including, in dissolution of the powder, making it possible to obtain ultraviolet fluorescence of the desired color; print by screen printing with a second pigmented vinyl ink 4 a watermark on areas formed either by the first layer of ink 2 or by the layer of varnish 3. Affix the signature of the document holder using a felt-tip pen with indelible ink to a product such as the one marketed under the brand CORRECTOR. This process makes it possible to detect any successful attempt at fraud while increasing the difficulty of reproducing documents.

Description

The present invention relates to an anti-fraud method for a document of value. This process can advantageously be used on all documents having a monetary value such as credit cards, transport tickets, etc.

It is already known to avoid fraud and especially counterfeiting of documents having a monetary value to provide them on the one hand with a surface allowing to collect the signature of the holder and on the other hand to print on the document or certain areas of the document a watermark. In the case where the watermark covers the signature part, this makes fraud more difficult. Indeed, in the case where the ink of the signature is difficult to erase, the fraudster will have to remove the watermark at the same time as the signature. This will force him to reprint a watermark on the card in order to reuse this card. On the other hand in the case where the ink of the signature easily disappears with a solvent without the watermark being altered, the fraudster can change the signature and reuse the card. In this case, no means has so far shown that the card has been the subject of an attempted fraud.

The object of the invention is a method for overcoming the above drawback and detecting an attempted fraud, while making the imitation of cards more complex.

  • Déposer sur l'emplacement de signature une couche d'encre incluant un pigment et chargée d'un produit lui assurant une certaine porosité sur l'emplacement de signature;
  • Déposer sur certaines zones de la première couche d'encre un vernis transparent et poreux incluant en dissolution de la poudre de chélate de terre rare permettant d'obtenir aux ultra-violets une fluorescence de la couleur souhaitée;
  • Imprimer par sérigraphie, au moyen d'une deuxième encre vinylique pigmentée, un filigrane sur des zones de la première couche d'encre, et de la couche de vernis;
This object is achieved by the fact that the anti-fraud process for a document of value consisting of a PVC substrate, comprising a signature location on this substance, consists in:
  • Deposit on the signature site a layer of ink including a pigment and charged with a product ensuring it a certain porosity on the signature site;
  • Deposit on certain areas of the first layer of ink a transparent and porous varnish including in dissolution of the rare earth chelate powder making it possible to obtain ultraviolet fluorescence of the desired color;
  • Print by screen printing, using a second pigmented vinyl ink, a watermark on areas of the first layer of ink, and of the layer of varnish;

Apposer la signature du titulaire de la carte à l'aide d'un stylo feutre à encre indélébile à un produit tel que celui commercialisé sous la marque CORRECTORAffix the signature of the card holder using a felt-tip pen with indelible ink to a product such as that marketed under the brand CORRECTOR

D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de la présente invention apparaitront plus clairement à la lecture de la description ci-dessous faite en référence aux dessins annexés dans lesquels la figure 1 représente une vue partielle d'un docuement de valeur;Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the description below made with reference to the appended drawings in which FIG. 1 represents a partial view of a valuable document;

Figure 2 shows a sectional view of the different layers of the valuable document.

De plus l'adhérence du vernis 3 devra être inférieure à l'adhérence de l'encre de la signature dans la couche d'encre support 2.FIG. 1 represents a partial view of a valuable document obtained by the method according to the invention such as for example, a credit card, this credit card being constituted by a PVC substrate 1 and comprising a rectangular location allowing '' welcome the signature of the holder. This rectangular location is constituted by a first layer of ink 2, this ink including a pigment giving it a preferably white color and loaded with a product ensuring it a certain porosity. Advantageously, the ink may consist of a vinyl ink and charged with a titanium dioxide. This ink is marketed by Etablissements DUBUIT under the name Blanc 1400. On certain areas of this first layer 2 a porous mat varnish 3 is deposited in which a powder of rare earth chelate, or esculin type has been dissolved, making this varnish fluoresce with the desired color. This fluorescence appears in ultraviolet light but does not appear in daylight. This layer of varnish 3 can be deposited for example in the form of initials in character of a certain width and covering certain areas of the signature location. Then we print a watermark 4 so that it in some areas is only on the first ink layer and in other areas or on the varnish layer as we can see in Figure 1. This watermark 4 is printed by screen printing using a second pigmented vinyl ink. The transparent matt varnish is constituted by the varnish marketed by the DUBUIT establishments under the reference Vernis Mat 1400. The product dissolved in the varnish will be chosen according to the desired fluorescence when the layer is subjected to ultraviolet. So if we want a green color we will use a terbium chelate, in the case where we want to obtain a yellow fluorescence we will use a dysprosium chelate, and in the case where we want to obtain a blue fluorescence we will use a product such as esculin. These different products have the property of not losing their fluorescence over time. Finally, a signature 5 is affixed on the space reserved for the signature, with a felt pen comprising an indelible ink to a product such as that marketed under the brand CORRECTOR. These felt pens can advantageously be made up of the felts sold by the company STAEDLER under the reference 303 or the company MARKANA under the reference 33. Furthermore, the ink of layer 2 will be chosen so that it has a higher porosity to that of varnish 3. In addition, the adhesion of varnish 3 must be less than the adhesion of the signature ink in the support ink layer 2.

Thus, by this process, a document was obtained in which any successful attempt at signature fraud can be detected. Indeed, the felt being indelible to products such as that marketed under the brand CORRECTOR, one cannot erase the signature with a product of this type. Likewise, a product such as that marketed under the brand CORRECTOR has no action on the varnish supporting the fluorescent product and cannot attack a screen-based ink based on vinyl, since such a product is not a solvent, but acts by chemical reaction. on the ink pigment. Therefore there can be no fraud. On the other hand, in the case where we try to use solvents which are not very aggressive, such as, for example, alcohol, and in the case where by insisting sufficiently on the ink of the signature, we would manage to partially erase it, the signature ink deposited on the fluorescent layer will leave with the fluorescent layer and before the parts of the signature deposited on the support layer 2. This is due to the fact that on the one hand the support ink layer 2 and the layer of varnishes have different porosities and that the adhesion of the felt ink on the support layer 2 is better than the adhesion of the varnish on the support ink layer. Consequently, fraud can be detected by noting that the fluorescent parts no longer appear in the desired locations. This even if the fraudster succeeded in putting a signature on the card. Finally, the succession of the different stages of the process and the association of the different products making it possible to constitute these stages makes it more difficult to counterfeit the cards or documents of value thus constituted.

Any modification within the reach of the skilled person is also part of the spirit of the invention.

Thus one could consider printing the watermark with a non-vinyl ink which would fade under the action of an acid-based product such as that marketed under the brand CORRECTOR, by action on the pigments of the ink. In this case an attempted fraud by such a product is detected by the disappearance of the watermark.
