Assassin’s Creed Odyssey may have been leaked by a keychain

Now where did I put my keys

Update: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has been confirmed.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey may be the next entry in Ubisoft’s time-bending action franchise. French video game site jeuxvideo-live.com posted an image of a novelty keychain promoting the unannounced title. The report claims the image and additional info comes from a source that goes by the alias Arcticblue, and describes Odyssey as a follow-up to Assassin’s Creed Origins.

While we can’t vouch for the source, the name (borrowed from the required high school reading and Greek myth) suggests a Greek setting, which aligns with various rumors from earlier this year.

Ubisoft will likely confirm the next Assassin’s Creed at E3. But let’s cherish this moment, when the game can be anything. Consider the name: Odyssey. Now imagine an Assassin’s Creed game that builds off Black Flag and sets the story inside an oral myth (a story that changes depending on from whom Abstergo pulls the memories). Sure, it will probably never happen. This game will probably feature a historical-ish setting. But what are rumors leaked from novelty keychains supposed to do, if not inspire shameless flights of fancy! [Ed. note: I’m going to fantasize that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey co-stars a sentient assassin hood named Hoodie.]
