For a console so criticized for its lack of hardcore titles, the Wii sure seems to be home to a lot of survival horror these days.

Add Cursed Mountain to the list, a new title being designed exclusively for the platform.

The game, set in the Himalayas, puts you in the role of a mountaineer searching for his lost brother. Since this is a horror title, our hero ends up encountering all manner of ghosts and demons, with a few cursed villagers and monks thrown in for good measure.

Gameplay will feature extensive use of the Wiimote's motion sensitivity. You'll use it to look around, climb the alpine terrain, and also fight enemies.

Developer Deep Silver also promises to show off the breathtaking mountainous setting -- they don't call it the "roof of the world" for nothing -- by giving players full view of the entire game world, no matter what level they find themselves in.

Cursed Mountain is set for a 2009 worldwide release.
