Carlos Sainz has admitted that he was shocked by Ferrari’s decision to replace him with Lewis Hamilton from the 2025 season onwards.

Hamilton has signed a “multi-year contract” with Ferrari and will leave Mercedes, the team he has raced for since 2013, at the end of this season. The seven-times drivers’ champion will join the Italian team’s driver line-up alongside Charles Leclerc, while Sainz is out of contract and must find a new seat.
