Xbox 360: New Unreal Tournament 3 screenshots and infos

A six-page long article on Unreal Tournament 3 in the latest issue of OXM reveals some interesting facts about the Xbox 360 version of the game. Developers and the magazine editors said that it is looking better than Gears of War in its current state. The reason for this being that Epic Games improved the Unreal Engine 3 for Xbox 360 since they released Gears of War six months ago.

The Xbox 360 version of the game will support four-player co-op and two-player split-screen in the single-player campaign, which will let you take different paths depending on the decisions you take. Unreal Tournament 3 will feature 18 vehicles and 5 types of turrets. Epic also promises "zero-time to spectacle" thanks to the hoverboard (two of them being linked to a Manta in the picture below).

Nice graphics, and because its the Unreal engine it should actually run quite nicely now it's been tweaked (if it's like the Unreal 2 engine was on PC).

Considering this is the un-polished xbox 360 screen shots am i right in thinking that the pc version should be better again? or is the better graphics only xbox related due to there improved unreal 3 engine?

I'm surprised they're putting so much effort into the single player mode, maybe this will be a new strength to the UT game :)

It would be nice to have another Unreal - I never played one or two, but I always loved Unreal Tournament and thought a single player version would be nice. I've played the first UT and UT 2004, but never tried 2003.

Anyone ever played Unreal 1 or 2?

That's what they want you to think. Take a second look. Obviously, you haven't seen the HD teaser that was released ages ago. This game has the best graphics of any game I've ever seen.

But I like to blow shit up for a reason.
I.E. Knowing its someone I hate.

If it was a game about blowing up schools and killing small children would you be as interested?Plotline is as important as blowing shit up :D

My personal preference are claymores and daisycutters.

UT is a league sport. People make teams and kill eachother in arenas. You don't need a storyline for every game. Does Pong need a storyline? No. Does Unreal need a storyline? Yes - - - does Unreal Tournament need a storyline? No. It's an arena FPS. You kill, and it's incredibly fun. Don't buy UT for the singleplayer.

If you need a storyline for a multiplayer game like this, it's because you're not preoccupied with superb FPS skill. When I'm duking it out for the top of the scoreboard on a multiplayer round, I never think about the story.
