It’s Morphin Time — OG style!
In 1993, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers introduced a group of colorful heroes to an entire generation. The Power Rangers franchise has since powered on for 29 total seasons — not to mention the countless action figures, video games and movies it’s spawned. Now, ahead of the 30th anniversary, a pair of original Rangers are joining forces with some of their successors for the scripted team-up special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always. Yes, prepare to be singing “Go, Go, Power Rangers” like a kid on after-school afternoons and Saturday mornings.

For those unfamiliar (it’s about time that you morphed into a fan!), the Power Rangers began when an evil sorceress, Rita Repulsa, escaped her space dumpster prison and attacked Earth, prompting galactic wizard Zordon to select five teens “with attitude” and bestow them with powers that would enable them to protect their home planet. And while others have followed in their footsteps over the years, the new Netflix revival reminds us that, “Once a Ranger, always a Ranger.” Here’s everything you need to know about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.
What is Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always about?
While there’s plenty of surprises in store, here’s the official, spoiler-free logline: “In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, 30 years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise “Once a Ranger, always a Ranger,”Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.”

Who is in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always?
Leading the way in Once & Always are two of the actors who helped launch this global phenomenon. Walter Emanuel Jones and David Yost reunite as Black Ranger Zack Taylor and Blue Ranger Billy Cranston, respectively. Yost had the longest run of the initial iteration of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, staying on for four seasons and more than 200 episodes. Alongside Jones and Yost will be the team that stepped in as the second group of Rangers back in the day: Catherine Sutherland as Pink Ranger Katherine “Kat” Hillard, Steve Cardenas as Red Ranger Rocky DeSantos, Johnny Yong Bosch as Black Ranger Adam Park, and Karan Ashley as Yellow Ranger Aisha Campbell. Barbara Goodson also returns to voice iconic villain Rita Repulsa, now in robot form and aided by familiar lackeys Minotaur, Snizzard and the Putty Patrollers. And, speaking of robots, Richard Horvitz is back as the voice of Ranger assistant Alpha.
Once & Always does introduce some fresh blood as well, with Charlie Kersh starring as Minh, the teenage daughter of original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan, who was played by the late Thuy Trang. The special pays tribute to both Trang and Jason David Frank, the late actor behind renowned Ranger Tommy Oliver.
When does Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always come out?
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always will premiere April 19. And for more Power Rangers, the milestone 30th season Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury hits Netflix this fall.
