Kristine Varkony

Kristine Varkony first joined the NBC4 team in early 2017. She is a multifaceted journalist who equally loves anchoring, producing, covering OSU football, live interviews, and breaking news.

A Buckeye from day one, Kristine was raised on a farm in the Ohio Valley (Jefferson County) and attended Steubenville Catholic Schools. She earned her degree in journalism from The Ohio State University— while interning at NBC4 her senior year.

After college, Kristine returned to the Ohio Valley to start her journalism career in her hometown market at NBC4’s sister station WTRF 7News.

During her time as Digital Anchor at NBC4, NBC4i.com was awarded Best Digital Presence by the Associated Press. Kristine was also named as a 10 Under 10 Young Alumni by Ohio State Sorority and Fraternity Life and a Nexstar Digital Content Influencer. She has also worked on special projects and stories for NBC4 that have taken her from New York City to California and South Carolina.

As a self-proclaimed “Columbus stan,” Kristine loves exploring and attending events in the Cap City, being outdoors, traveling, exercise classes, and trying new restaurants. Most importantly she values spending time with her godchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings who also live in Central Ohio.

She’d love to connect with all of Central Ohio on her social media pages. Instagram and TikTok are her favorite mediums.
