Description

These little pincushions are not only incredibly fun to make, but they’re also quite easy to stitch up. Biscornu is a French word which originally means ‘odd’, or ‘irregular’. It refers to the 8 sided little pincushion which you will be able to stitch easily with the instructions in this file!

The design for this pattern was inspired by Quaker designs. After having bought a Quaker sampler from 1795, I have been very interested in this type of embroidery. This design is a reflection on the pure and geometric patterns found on classic samplers, and features elements from the natural world.

This particular pattern measures 65 crosses in width and height. Stitched on 32 count linen, they’d measure approximately 4 1/8” by 4 1/8” (10.5 by 10.5cm). Make sure to check my shop for high quality threads and fine linens!
