Miranda Kerr has her hands full—quite literally. When she gets on the phone for our interview, she’s in the midst of breastfeeding her four-month-old son, Myles. “Is that okay?” she asks, as Myles coos in the background. “Of course,” I reply. “He sounds like he has a lot to share.”

So does his mom, for that matter. As founder and CEO of Kora Organics, Kerr can’t stop talking about how her newest innovation, the Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum, has completely changed her skin post-pregnancy. “It’s minimizing my pores and helping with pigmentation, as well as fine lines and wrinkles,” she says. “My skin has never been better since I started incorporating it into my routine.”

And Kerr means it. Even when she gets tongue-tied (“When you’re breastfeeding, baby brain becomes more intense because oxytocin is released, and it makes me all goo-goo-gaga,” she says, laughing), she keeps talking until she’s explained everything in thorough detail. She stands behind the results of her new serum so much that she even gives me a homework assignment: “Use it for two weeks and then send me a message. I really want to hear your feedback.”

She has a deal. But for now, it’s time for me to turn the tables on Kerr to answer a lightning round of Glamour’s Big Beauty Questions. Get her thoughts on everything from her favorite shampoo to why she doesn’t wear perfume, ahead.

What’s one beauty trend you’re obsessed with right now?

Just very healthy skin. It all starts there. I also like the no-makeup makeup look. Less is more, in my opinion.

What beauty rule do you swear by?

Having a routine is so important. For me, I apply my Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum in the morning and then the night serum in the evening followed by the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask. Keep up the consistency within your routine.

Fill in the blank. I love when my hair is…

Clean. I let it air-dry unless I’m getting it done for a photo shoot. I’m not very good with my hair at all. Mostly, I put it in a ponytail. I love Rahua shampoo, though, and John Masters Organics is also good—it’s got a peppermint tea shampoo I like.

What else do you do to keep your hair so healthy and shiny?

I rinse in cold water, which is great for overall body and also stimulates your scalp. Sometimes I’ll leave an oil treatment in my hair all day and just slick it back and put the Noni Body Oil in it. It feels like I’m getting all the nutrients that I need in my hair, which is nice.

You travel constantly. Is there a city or a country that gives you the greatest beauty inspiration?

Morocco is beautiful. The lights are really gorgeous there, and all the colors are amazing. Obviously Paris is a beautiful city. Everywhere you look, you’re inspired by architecture and the minimalist clean makeup that you see on a lot of French women.

You’re stranded on a desert island. What three products do you bring with you?

Kora Organics Turmeric 2-in-1 Brightening and Exfoliating Face Mask, which draws out any impurities and has a peppermint aroma, which is really uplifting. Also, the Kora Noni Glow Face Oil, and then I’ll bring a hat too.

What color are you loving on your nails right now?

I’m always a nude or red girl. Pretty classic. I had no polish on my nails for the longest time when I was pregnant, but then I went completely red. Now I’m back to a sheer, slightly pink color.

Screw, marry, kill: mascara, lipstick, and highlighter. Tell me which one you’d choose for each product.

I’m obsessed with mascara, but have a love/hate relationship with it too, so maybe I’d screw that. I’d marry lipstick since I like a red lip. I guess that leaves highlighter to kill, but we have a really great one at Kora that I love. Unless I just kill lipstick and go for the real clean look? Then I’d need to stick with the highlighter. Maybe that’s where I’m heading at the moment? This is hard.

What’s the best beauty advice your mom ever gave you?

Since I was little, my mom used to say, “:et your little light shine.” That just meant shine your heart, your light, into the world. I feel like no matter who you are, when you do that, you’re the most beautiful.

Which women are inspiring you the most right now?

My grandmother because she’s the epitome of grace, has a generous spirit, and an infectious laugh.

If you could change one thing about beauty perceptions, what would that be?

Every single person has so much beauty inside of them, and when they feel confident within themselves and comfortable in their own skin, that beauty really can shine through. I just feel like that needs to be captured more in all areas, all shapes and sizes, all backgrounds. When someone’s comfortable in their own skin, they really radiate on the outside.

What’s your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?

I’ve practiced meditation for a long time, so I can just recenter and focus on my breath. Even if I’m in the middle of chaotic situations, I can kind of zone into my quiet place. Obviously it’s great when I can meditate in a quiet, calm place, but it’s not always possible.

How much time do you spend getting ready?

I’ve never timed it, but I have a theory that it takes me seven minutes to get ready from literally in my PJs to out the door. That doesn’t include my shower, though. Let’s say I’ve already done that and cleansed my face. It takes me seven minutes to do my skin-care routine, add some concealer, a little highlighter, and there you go! I’m pretty quick.

What’s your go-to perfume and why?

I don’t do perfumes. For the longest time I’ve been using essential oils, and I really love geranium, neroli, and sandalwood. A friend of mine made a mix for me, and that’s what I use. It’s all organic essential oils. I have a Heart Chakra Aromatherapy with Kora, which is rose otto and sandalwood as well, which is amazing. Even my nine-year-old, Flynn, uses the aromatherapy essential oil. He carries that in his bag at school, so whenever he’s feeling stressed or overwhelmed he puts a little bit of that aromatherapy on because it’s for your heart chakra.

Does Flynn want to try all of your products?

He wants to try everything all the time. If he sees friends who are using something, he’ll be like, “Is that organic? What are you using?” It’s pretty cute.
