He worked as a football player and a boxer during a time. In cinema, he become a popular actor during the 50s and 60s, often in comedic roles. Among others, he appeared in "Los Tramposos", "Una vez al año ser Hippy no hace daño", "El Día de los enamorados", "Las chicas de la Cruz Roja", "El astronauta", "El Tigre de Chamberí" and "Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley". He was awarded with a Goya Award for his career in 1994. His epitaph reads "Aquí Yace un Cómico. Fin de la primera parte". (Here lies a comic artist. End of the first part.)
