Game would not install no matter what I tried, like as administrator, in safe mode, etc. Finally did some research on google and found a message board where a guy had trouble too. He said the game will try to load agiea physics before it loads the game and if your computer already has a physics program in it, it will make the game not load correctly. He said he deleted his agiea physics program in add/remove and then the game loaded for him. I tried that but I didn't have an agiea physics program in the list, but I did have an nvidea physics program. I think it came with unreal tournament. I uninstalled it, and then retried to install MOH airborne, and then it loaded. It did take a while but it worked great afterward. The game play is so far pretty good. Not quite as good as COD 2, but still pretty good. I have gotten though the first mission so far, and I'm still getting used to it. Graphics seem pretty good, when you right click to aim, you have to hold right button to keep aiming, I wish it would stay until you left click to reset it. Loading missions takes a long time too, and I have a super-charged machine. Dual core amd 3 gig processor, 4 gig ram, radion 4850 gpu, everything else I do on this bad boy screams. I'll probably get used to all that stuff soon. Overall I recommend the game, especially since you can get it so cheap on ebay. I got mine for 8.99 including shipping. Thanks!!Read full review
Some people don't care for WW2 FPS games or think that they have been overdone, but I still think that there is a fun raw nature to it. This game takes a different approach into how you as the player are inserted in the beginning of a campaign. You get to parachute into different places and perhaps get a better approach to the enemy below you which is fun. The gameplay itself is pretty good with the upgrades to weapons as you use each one more. The gameplay can get pretty difficult though against the AI in normal settings. One reason I bought this game was because of the advertised co-op capability, only to find out that they canned that part of it. I was really disappointed to also find out how lousy the multiplayer part of it was handled. There aren't more than 12-16 players max per server, and to show how bad the game sold, there is maybe one server that people are playing in out of maybe 9 listed. Another bummer is the patching. The first patch is a whopping 1.8GB download, then the second is about 1GB. Overall, it is a good game with pretty good graphics. For single player playing it is a fun game, but not so much for the multiplayer.Read full review
I like it a lot, but I had to un-install AGEIA PhysX before it would load. I have a 64 bit computer & discovered the incompatibility via the read-me file. The game automatically re-loads the PhysX version that it needs. I found this out via the seller on Ebay. It plays great, & you can go anywhere you want & not have to follow a narrow path to each objective. For instance, you can circle around behind the enemy in several ways. You don't have to follow the team & still be able to support them.
I bought the latest installment in Medal of Honor series (Airborne), it has to be one of the most impressive WW2 games i've played. You probably will say, another WW2 fps, we've been there, no this is not the case here. If you're a fan of FPS games and would like to play the last decent one then you gotta try this one. FBA (Full Body Awareness) is impressive, the graphics are great (using Unreal Engine 3) and the gameplay is quite fun and not exactly linear, somehow you can finish any objective in multiple ways, it's open world but ofcourse not like GTA. In conclusion, i've enjoyed this more than any WW2 FPS game, even more than Call of Duty series (okay they're great but definitely got repititive and the infinite amount of enemies spawning gets definitely boring and annoying)
The reviews are all true , that this addition to the MOH Series is great. If you play FPS games , and prefer the intimate battles that are carried on as an infantryman , this game has - just that. Being that the game doesn't have vehicles to run around in galore and is based on infantry play alone , it can compete with COD2. The addition of being able to adjust your parachute and drop into the battlefield area as a paratrooper adds alot of extra playability. Secondly , you can also adjust your own personal preferences as to which weapons you prefer to carry with you when you parachute out of the airplane and glide into chaos as a footsoldier. The battles are absolutely intense , loaded with firefights that lead you to the MarketGarden map and others. The MarketGarden map exemplifies how well the game has been put together , with multi level stairs , rooftops , ruins , broken railcars , ladders and more - including : snipers (who's eyeglass reflects to show their existance) when a threat. Throughout the AI is flawless , with very realistic damage characteristics , coupled with excellent authentic sounds , uniforms and weaponry. For certain the WWII era has been captured in Airborne far beyond other games in terms of playability , as each mission has numerous objectives that must be reached. The added feature of awards anouncements while in game , for deadly accuracy and such - also upgrade your ability to collect more ammunition than usual , when the opportunity arises , rather than becoming full only - without overemphasizing that feature. The hud displays a very active and responsive set of features that includes a healthmeter that requires you to maintain it by picking up healthsacks strewn randomly around the maps after any damage. While each of the 4 health levels will deteriorate if you are injured , but regain accordingly back to their individual full level if you protect yourself for a short period of time in gameplay. Overall , I have to score this game 10+++ out of 10 for it's originality , design and playability - as there is no other game that covers an infantryman's footsteps quite like AIRBORNE. As the storyline is strong and well implemented , I have to say that if you like WWII FPS games , you will not be disappointed if you buy it. Whether you play the single player or multiplayer modes , you will definately not play this game once and forget it , like some other games.Read full review
