I originally bought a VGA splitter that wasn't powered. I was splitting the VGA signal between my Computer monitor and an LED TV. But, the unpowered splitter dimmed my computer monitor so badly that, even raising the brightness and contrast 10 points each didn't help. Was very eye straining. Then I heard about powered VGA Splitters and found this brand somewhere else (not at Amazon). It was exactly what I needed. My PC monitor is back to it's normal brightness.
