I did a lot of research on Amazon Prime, eBay and Internet sellers. There are many expensive (300 USD plus) sets out there of wonderful quality. This set has many attributes of the higher end sets: all real wood, hand made/carved, weighted and felted bases, hand made wood inlay board and importantly, the pieces are up to 4" tall. The pieces are wonderfully finished, smooth, varnished and have lots of detail. I could not smell any odours, uneven surfaces or glue squeeze out. The table is big (20" x 20.5 " or 51cm x 52cm). IMO this set gives you 80-90% of what a very high end set would provide at a fraction of the price.
The manufacturer, Wegiel, uses great materials, employs no child labour and has a great heritage.
I'm really happy with this set. This is wonderful value for money.
