Urban Design Panel Presentation

This spring, the Urban Design Studio at the University of Oregon focused on future visions for the Lloyd District. Under the leadership of Prof. Nico Larco, AIA and Adjunct Prof. Gauri Rajbaidya (SERA), the studio worked with the City of Portland, community stakeholders, various design firms, developers, and landowners from the Lloyd District to address the current challenges and future opportunities of the eastern part of the district. Among various topics, student proposals investigated opportunities for the redevelopment of the Lloyd Center Mall, a range of potential new programs for the area, the re-connection of the area to surrounding neighborhoods, and sustainable and equitable urban design strategies. Come see the student proposals and join the conversation about the future of this critical, re-emerging area in Portland.
