Mehmet Topuz is a professional footballer who currently plays for Fenerbahçe SK. He was born on September 7, 1983 in Yozgat, Turkey. His passion for football goes back to his childhood, when a little footballer participated in different regional and local football competitions. His career started in 1999 in a youth club called Kayseri Yolspor.
In 2000 Mehmet Topuz signed a 4-year contract with Kayseri Erciyesspor and scored 14 goals in 72 matches over the time he stayed with the club. From 2004 till 2009 the footballer featured for Kayserispor. He made 158 appearances and 33 goals for the club.
On June 13, 2009 Mehmet Topuz was signed for 3 years by Fenerbahçe for €9 million and the condition that Gökhan Emreciksin, a former Fenerbahçe player, moved to Kayserispor. The midfielder wears a number ‘38’ jersey. His current transfer fee is €8.5 million.
Mehmet Topuz made his international debut for the Turkey National U21 Football Team on March 1, 2006 in a match against the Czech Republic. He played the full 90 minutes on the pitch. In 2007 he captained the national team.
