Abstract

The method and system allows for searching of rides leaving from any point and going to any other point in a given region, country or continent, whether by ground vehicle, aircraft or vessel. The method and system allows for personal preferences such as nonsmoking/smoking preference, drive sharing/non-sharing preference, gender preference (including mixed), and specifying other preferences in comment fields. General preferences specify expense sharing arrangement, departure time, pick-up and drop off points, music preferences, and other concerns. The method and system allow multiple riders, different ride recurrences, and also a rider rating system. Confirmations and reminders are sent to riders before scheduled rides and review security procedures and other details. These confirmations and reminders can be forwarded to enhance security of the ride. Macros will be needed to facilitate searches. Micropayments will be charged to verify users.
