Abstract

A method, for the transmission of information in a communication network (KN) between a data provider component (DBK), in particular, in the form of a server and a mobile station (MT), in particular, in the form of a mobile telephone, is disclosed. At least one set of service provider identification information is provided on the mobile station, representing a particular service provider, such as a taxi service, a pizza delivery service, or similar. The instantaneous location of the mobile station is also determined. A selection of the service provider information is transmitted by the mobile station to the data provider component, whereupon the latter determines service provider contact information valid for the current location of the mobile station, corresponding to the selection of service provider information and said service provider contact information is then transmitted to the mobile station. It is thus possible that, for example, a business traveler, who travels to many different towns, can always be provided with important information such as call numbers for particular services or service providers in a simple manner.

The present invention relates to a method for transmitting information in a communication network between a data provision component or a data server and a mobile station, and in particular relates to a transmission of contacting information from services or service providers offering them at the location of the mobile station to the mobile station.
Let us assume a case in which a business traveler is in a foreign city and, for example, wants to order a taxi for a trip to the airport after a meeting. He may have saved the number of a taxi center in his mobile phone, but this will be the number of the taxi center in his home town. In this case, he has no other option but to use his mobile phone to call the telephone inquiries, which determine the telephone number of a taxi center in the foreign city, which costs money. In addition to determining the telephone number of the taxi center, the telephone information service can ideally connect the business traveler directly to the taxi center, but this incurs even more costs.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to create a possibility in which contact information for a service or a service is provided in a simple manner at any location.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche .This task is solved by the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
To provide contacting information suitable for a specific location, a method for carry information in a communication network between a data provision component and a mobile station, the following steps: a service profile with at least one service identification information is provided in the mobile station. The location of the mobile station is then determined. Subsequently, a selection of service identification information of the service profile is transmitted from the mobile station to the data provision component, whereupon this service service valid at the location of the mobile station
Aus diesemContacting information, which corresponds to the selection of the transmitted service identification information, transmitted to the mobile station. The term service is understood to mean an activity or a service that a specific service provider performs. For this
For this reason, the term service can also be equated with the term service provider in connection with the registration. For example, a taxi driver as a service provider operates a service or a service for the transportation of people, or a pizza maker as a service provider operates a pizza delivery service as a service. Using a method just described, it is thus possible for the user of a mobile station to query the contact information valid at the current location for a specific location by transmitting certain service identification information to a data provision component, so that, for example, a business traveler in a foreign city can easily do so Way can query the contact information of services important to him.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the service contacting information comprises a (telephone) number, an e-mail address, or an Internet address or URL (Uniform Resource Locator). According to a further advantageous embodiment, the location of the mobile station is determined by the mobile station itself, for example using a method using GPS (Global Positioning System), in which case the location information of the current location is additionally selected by the mobile station by selecting service identification information be transmitted to the data provision component. It is assumed here that an image is then stored on the data provision component, which maps service contact information (telephone number, e-mail address, etc.) associated with a specific location information and a specific service identification information. It is thus possible for the data provision component to finally determine the corresponding service contacting information based on the location information (EN) and service identification information (EN) transmitted by the mobile station and transmit it to the mobile station.
Das bei dem GPS angewandte Ortsbestimmungsverfah- ren beruht auf dem Prinzip der Entfernungsbestimmung durchAs already mentioned, according to an advantageous embodiment, the current location of the mobile station is determined by means of position detection via the global positioning system GPS. For this purpose, the mobile station can have a GPS module. The location determination method used in GPS is based on the principle of distance determination by
Measurement of the transit time of signals between the GPS module and one of several reference points (here satellites), whose positions are known exactly. To be more precise, a measurement signal is generated by a satellite (reference point), broadcast and received by the GPS module after passing through the distances to be measured. The accuracy of the position determination depends on the accuracy of the distance measurement and this in turn on the accuracy of the available time or time base. It should be noted that location determination using multiple satellites is not limited to GPS. According to a further advantageous embodiment, the determination of the current location of the mobile station can be determined by means of a base station identification method or base station identification method. For this purpose, the mobile station has a radio module for establishing a radio connection (via an air interface) with at least one corresponding base station or base station. After the radio connection has been established, the base station or base station can transmit its identifier to the radio module of the mobile station, so that the mobile station now knows which base station or base station it is connected to and thus determine the geographic location of the base station or base station can. This method, which is also referred to as the base localization method, can also be improved in that the distance from the base station to the radio module is calculated on the basis of a timing advance measurement of a radio signal transmitted between the base station or base station and the radio module of the mobile station , The location of the radio module with respect to the base station or base station can thus be further specified.
An improved determination of the current location of a mobile station in relation to a base station or base station can also be achieved on the basis of an intensity measurement of a radio signal transmitted from the base station to a radio module of the mobile station, the intensity of the radio signal decreasing as the distance from the base station decreases. Furthermore, the current location of the mobile station can be determined using an E-OTD (Enhanced Observed Time Difference) method. This method assumes that the mobile station again has a radio module, which in this case can receive the radio signals from at least three base stations in a radio network or cellular network. The radio module then measures the runtime differences between the radio signals from the base stations and reports them on request to a so-called SMLC (Serving Mobile Location Center). Since in particular in the GSM network but there is no synchronization, the real time difference (RTD) between the base stations must first be determined here. This is done by a so-called E-OTD location measurement unit (E-OTD LMU). This also reports the value to the SMLC, which can then determine the position of the radio module based on the OTD and RTD measurements and the positions of the base station.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the method described above, the step of determining is carried out at regular time intervals. In this way it can be ensured that changes in the location can be automatically recognized by the mobile station. It is conceivable that the length of the time intervals can be set so that a user who travels a lot chooses a shorter time interval while a user who is essentially at the same location (or in the same region) , can set a longer time interval. In this way, it is possible for the user to adapt the time interval used for the regular determination of the location to his needs, in order to be able to save energy if a determination at a high rate is not required.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, it is conceivable that the location is determined based on a signal from a user. This has the advantage that the user can determine the location only when necessary and thus further reduce the energy or electricity requirement.
Um wieder unnötige Übertragungen von Informationen zu vermeiden und Energie zu sparen, ist es dabei denkbar, dass die Schritte des Übermitteins der Dienstleistungs-Identifikationsinformationen an die Datenbereitstellungskomponente und des Übertragens derAccording to a further advantageous embodiment, the steps of transmitting the selection of service identification information to the data provision component and the transmission of the corresponding service contacting information to the mobile station are carried out immediately following the execution of the step of carried out based on the location. In order to avoid unnecessary transmission of information again and to save energy, it is conceivable that the steps of transmitting the service identification information to the data provision component and transmitting the
Service contacting information to the mobile station can only be carried out if the step of determining the location has resulted in a changed location. It is also conceivable here to provide a type of tolerance range around the location recorded last, the steps of transmitting and transmitting now being carried out in the case where the newly determined location is outside the tolerance range. In other words, if the newly determined location is within the tolerance range, the steps of transmitting and transmitting are not carried out (again).
Das Funknetz kann dabei beispielsweise nach demAccording to a further advantageous embodiment, the communication network comprises a radio network within which the information is transmitted from or to the mobile station via an air interface. The mobile station can be designed as a mobile radio device or a cell phone, but also as a computer, in particular a portable computer, such as a PDA (Personal Digital), which has a radio module. The radio network can, for example, according to the
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) -, UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Service)- oder dem WLAN (Wireless Lo- cal Area Network) -Standard arbeiten. Insbesondere Funknetze bzw. In particular radio networks or mobile radio networks according to the GSM or UMTS standard can represent a platform for WAP protocols or the WAP protocol stack (WAP: Wireless Application Protocol), by means of which data or information (such as the service identification information or the service contacting information, but also other information, such as tax information) can be transmitted in the respective mobile radio network. In case of using the WAP protocol stack it is possible by using a WAP gateway as Interface between a mobile radio network and another network, for example a network based on an Internet protocol, to create a connection to this. In this way it is possible for the data provision component in the form of a server or data server to be in a network based on an Internet protocol, such as the Internet, the information (service identification information, service contacting information or location information) being tion) can be transmitted via a WAP gateway and finally via an air interface of a mobile radio network between base stations of the mobile radio network and the mobile station.

Informationen in beiden Richtungen auszutauschen. Reference is now made to FIG. 1, in which a telecommunication arrangement in the form of a communication network KN according to an embodiment of the invention is shown. The communication network or communication network KN comprises a first communication network in the form of a mobile radio network MFN, which is connected via a connection component VK is connected to a line-bound network in the form of a network IPN based on an Internet protocol. The mobile radio network MFN comprises a mobile station in the form of a mobile telephone MT, which is connected via an air interface or a radio link FV to a base station or a plurality of base stations ESA of the mobile radio network MFN in order to exchange data or information in both directions. The mobile radio network MFN can, for example, operate in accordance with the GSM or UMTS standard and in particular represent a platform for exchanging data using WAP. The connection component VK further comprises a WAP gateway WGW as an interface between the mobile radio network MFN and the IP network IPN. It should be noted that this network IPN can also be connected to other networks based on an Internet protocol or other networks. A simple case is assumed here in which a data provision component in the form of a server DBK is located in the IP network IPN, data exchange being possible between the data provision component DBK and the mobile phone MT via the connection component VK.
As is also explained in more detail in the following figures, the mobile telephone MT comprises a keyboard TAS for entering characters and general control instructions, a display device or a display DSP for displaying entered characters or control instructions or also one in FIG. 2 shown service list DL or a service profile DLP. Furthermore, the mobile telephone comprises a storage device SP for storing the list DL or the profile DLP. It is conceivable that the storage device SP is also designed to store a telephone book TB with a plurality of entries, the telephone book containing both dynamic entries in the form of the service identification information (which form the service profile DL) and normal telephone book entries are (see also the explanations for Figure 2). To determine the current location of the mobile telephone, it further comprises a position detection device PE, which comprises, for example, a GPS module. In addition, the mobile phone MT comprises a radio module FM for sending service identification information DU, DI2 (see FIG. 2) and location information to the data provision component and for receiving service contacting information DKI (see FIG. 3).
Möchte ein Benutzer mittels dem Mobiltelefon MT, genauer gesagt mittels dessen Benutzeroberfläche, bestehend aus der Tastatur TAS und demReference is now made to FIG. 2, in which the procedure for creating a “normal” and for creating a “dynamic” entry is explained schematically. A user would like to use the mobile phone MT, more precisely by means of its user interface, consisting of the keyboard TAS and the
Anschließend wird er inDisplay DSP create a new phone book entry, he will start a corresponding software application for entering phone book entries on the mobile phone MT. In step S1 he is asked by him first whether the new telephone book entry should be a "normal" or a "dynamic" telephone book entry. If a dynamic telephone book entry is to be created, the user is asked in step S2 to enter the name for the corresponding service or service or also the name for the service provider. Then he is in
Step S3 prompts you to choose an identification or identification number for the service. It is particularly advantageous here if an assignment of name and identification number for a service is specified by a central location. In particular, it is advantageous if a corresponding relationship is defined by the service provider for providing service contact information, who operates the data provision component DPK and, as will be explained in FIG. 3, when the service is sent. Returns identification information and location information corresponding service contact information. It It should be noted that the term service provider is used here for the operator of the data provision component DBK, while the term service provider or the term service refers to persons and services that are managed by the data provision component DBK.
Hierzu kannIt is now assumed that the relationship between names and identification numbers is assigned centrally for a service, so that after a name has been entered in step S2, the corresponding identification information is automatically added by the mobile phone. If the relationship between name and identification number is already (centrally) determined, then in this case both the name and the identification number can be considered as identification information, which can then be transmitted to the data provision component individually or together, as described in Figure 3 will be explained. Another possibility of creating a dynamic phone book entry is to select it from a list DL of predefined dynamic phone book entries. This can
Step S2 are overridden, so that in step S3 only one entry in the list DL has to be selected to select the identification information and possibly confirmed by means of a specific key, so that this entry can be saved as a new entry in step S4 in a telephone book TB. FIG. 2 shows the case in which two dynamic telephone book entries or service identification information items DU and DI2 with names and identification numbers have already been entered in the telephone book TB in the telephone book TB in accordance with steps S1 to S3. These two service identification information form the service profile DLP. A normal call number entry RN1 is also stored in the telephone book TB, in which a telephone number is assigned to a name. This now means that dynamic entries are stored in the phone book, in which certain service identification numbers are assigned to a name. is arranged, while normal phone book entries are also provided, in which a name is assigned a "real" number, which can be dialed directly.
A "normal" call number can be entered in accordance with the method shown in FIG. 2 in such a way that a step S1 answers the question of a dynamic telephone book entry with "no", so that the user is asked in step S5 to enter the name of his contact, and is asked in step S6 to enter the telephone number or telephone number. This combination of name and number is then inserted in step S4 into the telephone book TB as a normal telephone book entry, corresponding to the telephone book entry RN1.
Reference is now made to FIG. 3, in which a schematic representation of a sequence for establishing a connection to a contact provided in the telephone book TB of FIG. 2 is explained. A telephone connection to the corresponding contact should be established. For this purpose, the user first starts a corresponding software application in his mobile phone to set up a connection in accordance with an embodiment of the invention. The user is then asked in step S11 whether a dynamic telephone book entry or a normal telephone book entry should be selected. If a dynamic telephone book entry is to be selected, the current location of the mobile telephone MT is determined in step S12. For this purpose, the current position or the current location in longitude and latitude is determined in the mobile phone MT by the position detection device PE with the GPS module, this position information or location information 01 being output by the position detection device PE. Then, in a step S13, the user selects the desired directory entry or the service identification information stored with it (either name or identification number of the service, or both). out. This can be done by the user being shown on the DSP display a list of all possible dynamic phone book entries (the service profile is displayed) and the user selecting the desired dynamic entry. The service identification information, in the simplest case the identification number of a service, is then advantageously taken from the telephone book entry from the selected telephone book entry and, together with the location information 01 just determined, by the radio module FM via the radio connection FV and the switching component VK and the IP Network IPN finally transmitted to the data provision component DBK. The data provision component DBK then checks in step S14 whether a corresponding entry is provided on the data provision component (for example a special illustration or a table) for the information transmitted by the mobile telephone MT, ie whether a corresponding requested service or service is available at the current location of the mobile telephone MT an appropriate service is available. If no corresponding service is available, the data provision component sends a corresponding message to the mobile phone in step S15 via the switching component VK and the radio link VF that there is no entry, which the user can see on the display DSP.
If there is a corresponding entry on the data provision component DBK, the corresponding call number is determined by the data provision component in step S 1 and the switching components VK and the radio link FV are transmitted as service contacting information DKI to the mobile telephone via the IP network IPN. For example, the service contacting information DKI can include a corresponding service information DI including the name of the service or the service provider of the identification number, as well as the determined call number RN for establishing a communication connection. Now that the service contact information mation DKI has been transmitted to the mobile phone, the mobile phone MT can dial the corresponding call number in step S17 and establish a communication connection for the user. It is also conceivable that the call number just transmitted is also stored in the telephone book TB. This number would then be updated again the next time the phone book entry was dynamically dialed.
If it was decided in step S11 that no dynamic telephone book entry should be dialed, the mobile phone MT immediately establishes a communication connection to the desired contact of the selected telephone book entry in which a telephone number is contained in step S18.
In summary, it can be said that when dialing a dynamic phone book entry at each location, the number valid at the location is made available, so that, for example, a business traveler who is traveling in many different cities can use the method described in Figure 3 in each city easily get to a number of the desired service.
