Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de localisation qui permet de déterminer la position d'un dispositif client léger à partir d'un serveur de localisation afin de réduire sensiblement la charge de calcul requise dans le client et de permettre la mise en oeuvre de calculs de positionnement plus précis et plus efficaces dans le serveur de localisation. Le dispositif client prétraite un signal de référence tel qu'un signal GPS afin de générer des données de référence. Ces données de référence prétraitées sont ensuite transmises par le dispositif client au serveur de localisation par l'intermédiaire d'une liaison de télécommunication telle qu'une liaison sans fil ou une combinaison réseau universel de télécommunication et réseau sans fil.
