Abstract

A telemetry monitoring network is provided for tracking environmental conditions throughout a multiple stage food processing, transportation and retail process. Specifically, sensor installations as various remote customer locations are configured to sense environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity associated with a specific parcel of food. The sensor data is then received from the multiple locations at a central database. An authorization protocol is provided to allow multi-level access to the central database. Additionally, predetermined threshold values are established such that data exceeding the thresholds indicate a malfunctioning operation status. Responsible party identification is then associated with each sensor installation to assign the failure operation to the party in control of that particular stage in the process. Notifications of the failure operation and associated information is communicated to a designated individual. Finally, unique sensor identification provides accurate financial billing to each of the multiple parties based on their level or amount of involvement in the overall system.
